In the late 1850’s Brothers Thomas and Pinkney Stone bought a piece of land that later was to be known as Stoneville. Tobacco played an important part of Stoneville’s history and the growth of Stoneville too off. In March of 1998 Stoneville would be changed forever as a tornado ripped the town apart. Many of the historical buildings were destroyed. The Stoneville Community lost two lives and the towns appearance would never be the same. Currently Stoneville is commissioning local Artist, Brandon Hardison, to bring life back to the Downtown area. Brandon, who is also a downtown business owner also belongs to Stoneville’s Dowtown Core Group which is made up of Volunteers of the business community. Brandon has started on a mural which will represent Stoneville throughout history.
